1. What is ABA therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals build communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing challenging behaviors. At Kaibab, we tailor our approach to meet each person’s unique needs and goals.
2. Who do you serve?
We provide services to individuals of all ages, from young children to adults, across a wide range of developmental and behavioral needs. Our services are inclusive, regardless of race, gender identity, or disability, as long as funding and eligibility criteria are met.
3. Where do services take place?
We meet clients where support is needed most—at home, in school, in the community, or through telehealth. We believe therapy is most effective when skills are practiced in natural settings.
4. Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We currently serve clients through AHCCCS health plans (Health Choice Arizona, Arizona Complete Health, and Mercy Care Developmental Disabilities plan), some private Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, and private pay. We also accept ESA funds for families using the Empowerment Scholarship Account program.
5. Do I need a diagnosis before starting services?
Yes. A diagnosis of autism or another qualifying condition is typically required for insurance-funded ABA therapy. If you do not yet have a diagnosis, we can provide referrals for evaluations.
6. How quickly can services begin?
After intake paperwork is completed, a supervising BCBA will contact you within 24–48 hours to schedule your child’s initial assessment. Services usually begin within 2–4 weeks, depending on assessment completion and funding authorization.
7. Will parents or caregivers need to be involved?
Yes. For ABA to be most effective, parents, caregivers, or teachers need to be actively involved. Our role is not to replace caregivers, but to equip them with strategies that work and can be used every day.
8. Do you provide training for schools or law enforcement?
Yes! In addition to therapy, Kaibab offers professional training for schools, paraprofessionals, and law enforcement. Our goal is to build community-wide understanding and strategies for supporting individuals with autism and behavioral challenges.
